Sarma is a laboratory for discursive practices and expanded publication in the field of dance, performance and beyond. It was initiated in 2000 by Myriam Van Imschoot and Jeroen Peeters, who were joined later by Kristien Van den Brande and Tom Engels in the artistic team. Sarma collects and organizes discursive practices. The website hosts a large historical archive of writings on dance and performance, with text collections around authors, artists and themes such as criticality or dramaturgy. It also contains documentation of lectures, workshops and research projects.
In 2012 it was expanded with Oral Site, a platform to support digital artist publications and experimental documentation with a focus on orality.
